Leadership, collaboration, and emotional intelligence could stay among the toughest work competencies to automate during rising AI use, per a June 2026 GoHumanize report on enduring job skills. Researchers reviewed 60 workplace competencies to determine which ones will likely stay relevant with expanding AI integration in various sectors. Abilities involving social engagement, decision-making, and situational awareness scored better for long-term value than routine or technical duties. Leadership proved toughest for AI to handle. Systems can handle roughly 31 percent of typical executive responsibilities, the analysis showed. The skill rated high due to demands like interpreting contexts, inspiring groups, and rendering key decisions, domains where current AI tools still show constraints.
