Meta’s internal AI projects have faced setbacks and delays, partly due to restrictions from Google. In March, Google rejected Meta’s request for extra computing capacity and imposed limits on the company’s use of Gemini AI models, according to a Financial Times report from June 28. Google stated it could not fulfill the full demand. Other Google customers relying on compute resources have also been affected, but Meta reportedly suffered the greatest impact from surging demand for the models.
