Australia secured a record-extending seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title by defeating England by seven wickets in the final at Lord’s on Sunday. After losing their opening wicket in the second over while chasing 151, Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield built a century partnership for the second wicket. Litchfield was dismissed for 48 from 35 balls, ending the stand, while Mooney reached 64 off 49 deliveries before falling to Sophie Ecclestone. Ellyse Perry appeared caught shortly afterward, but the third umpire ruled the catch invalid. Perry and Ashleigh Gardner then guided Australia to victory.
