Atul Kasbekar is widely known for his long association with the Kingfisher Calendar, a major advertising project that lasted 19 years. Beyond this work, he has pursued roles as a filmmaker, producer, entrepreneur and fitness advocate. His current exhibition, HONEST: Portraits of Character, runs until July 5 at Jio World Plaza in Mumbai’s BKC area. The show presents personal portraits that aim to reveal the individuals behind public images. Kasbekar notes that in an age of filters and AI imagery, authenticity comes from accepting natural marks of life rather than removing them. In a recent interview, he discussed his ongoing projects, career path and views on photography. He described the exhibition as an effort to move past performance and capture the person within each role. He also stressed the physical demands of the profession and the value of regular training, structured meals and time with family.
