The Sensex fell 0.33 percent to finish at 76,478.67, and the Nifty 50 slipped 0.34 percent to 23,865.75. Among stocks in focus, HDFC Bank plans to name Jigar Shah as General Counsel. Kotak Mahindra Bank will purchase select retail, private banking, and wealth units of Deutsche Bank India for roughly 282 crore rupees. Coal India intends to spend nearly 1,900 crore rupees on research and development by 2030 to raise output and cut emissions. KPIT Technologies expects softer first-quarter results for fiscal 2027, with revenue projected to decline about 1 percent year on year.
