Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday urged unemployed youth in Telangana to issue a strong rebuke to Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He accused them of misleading young voters by not delivering on commitments outlined in the Youth Declaration before the elections.
Rama Rao acknowledged that the previous BRS administration had made errors related to paper leaks and expressed regret for those shortcomings.
Speaking at the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu event held at Saroornagar Stadium in Hyderabad, he challenged the Congress government to prove it had filled 70,000 positions through its own recruitment notifications. He noted that many of the advertised posts had actually been initiated during the BRS period.
He stated that none of the 24 promises in the Youth Declaration, announced at the same venue in May 2023, had been implemented. These included an unemployment allowance, a Rs 10 lakh interest-free loan and 75 percent reservation for local youth in private sector jobs.
Rama Rao criticised varying statements by Congress leaders on job numbers, claiming they were intended to confuse job seekers. He said the BRS government had issued notifications for 2.32 lakh posts and filled 1.60 lakh of them, while also helping create over 20 lakh private sector opportunities.
He called on young people to hold the current government accountable, including for the 20,000 unfilled police vacancies. The event drew students and job aspirants from across the state.
