Raipur police arrested a 35-year-old man from Odisha on Tuesday night. He is accused of impersonating the personal assistant of BJP leader Nitin Nabin and tricking BJP MLA Purandar Mishra into sending Rs 10,000 by UPI. The call came around 8:24 pm on Sunday. Truecaller displayed the number as belonging to the aide, who said his car had run out of petrol and he was stranded in a forest area with family. Mishra agreed to help and later transferred the amount after receiving a follow-up call from another number.
