A Supreme Court judge publicly urged the executive branch to address funding imbalances in Karnataka’s judicial system. Justice Aravind Kumar, speaking at the 22nd Biennial State-Level Conference of Judicial Officers in Bengaluru, called on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to ensure that officials redirect 75-80% of revenues generated by courts toward improving judicial facilities.
During his address on Saturday, Justice Kumar pointed out that the state treasury collected approximately ₹376 crore, ₹439 crore, and ₹470 crore annually from 2023-24 to 2025-26 through various court-related sources. However, the government’s allocations for judicial purposes, excluding salaries, ranged only from ₹40 lakh to ₹1.4 crore over the same period.
