The Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab on Sunday accused the Congress, BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal of coordinating to target Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The party claimed the opposition groups lacked responses to the state government’s achievements. AAP Punjab media in-charge Baltej Pannu told reporters in Chandigarh that the three parties functioned as aligned teams focused solely on criticising the Mann administration. He called the Congress directionless and absorbed in internal conflicts. Pannu alleged coordination between the Congress and BJP in Punjab, noting that several current BJP leaders were former Congress members. He referenced a recent meeting between senior Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Pannu highlighted government initiatives, stating that canal water had reached tail-end villages for the first time in decades and that about 90 per cent of households received zero electricity bills under the 600-unit free power scheme. He added that farmers now receive uninterrupted daytime power and water, while more than 34 lakh women have begun receiving promised financial aid, with remaining beneficiaries to be covered from August 1. Pannu said the Congress relies on its central leadership for decisions, contradicting its earlier criticism of AAP. He claimed the opposition parties have no development vision for Punjab and cannot accept the ruling government’s record. He further stated that political bargaining between the Congress and BJP is underway ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
