A delegation from Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party visited the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on June 2 under the Know BJP initiative. The visit highlighted growing international interest in the party’s structure and its role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s electoral victories.
Launched on April 6, 2022, to mark the BJP’s 42nd Foundation Day, the programme introduces foreign leaders, diplomats and heads of missions to the party’s organisation, ideology and governance approach. It is managed by the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department.
Early sessions took place in April, May and June 2022. They covered the party’s history since 1951, its growth and its focus on reaching disadvantaged groups. The meetings also explained India’s electoral system and democratic processes.
The initiative operates through party-to-party contacts rather than official government channels. Delegates learn about grassroots work, membership systems and voter mobilisation in a large and diverse country.
