Enforcement Directorate officials encountered large protests and vandalism outside the home of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram. After a search linked to a corruption case, party workers assembled, blocked officials from departing and attacked their vehicle. The workers damaged the vehicle with stones and bricks. Despite heavy police presence, the crowd overpowered law enforcement, creating disorder. The operation continued after the High Court declined to stop the investigation, which also involves the former chief minister’s daughter. The former chief minister and family stayed inside the residence during the searches.
