An Anganwadi worker and her two young children were discovered dead inside their residence in Haryana’s Fatehabad district. Authorities believe the woman poisoned the children before ending her own life.

The bodies were recovered from a water tank within the home. A video reportedly made by the woman prior to the incident, claiming harassment by her husband, has emerged.

The event occurred in Mehuwala village and has caused distress in the community. The woman, identified as Sudesh, worked as an Anganwadi helper. Police investigations indicate she mixed poison into water given to the children before drowning them in the tank and then consuming poison herself.

Her brother stated she had been experiencing significant mental distress linked to her husband’s alleged drug issues and harassment. Police have filed charges against the husband, Sandeep Machra, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The couple married in 2014 and had two children. Family members noted she had posted a video and social media content describing marital difficulties before the incident. The husband informed relatives on August 6 that the family was missing.

Police confirmed the husband was away at the railway station distributing water at the time, while his mother was traveling for medical reasons. A video on the woman’s phone is being examined as part of the probe. The husband has been detained, and post-mortem examinations are underway.
