Scientists have recently reexamined a well-known fossil called the Hahnöfersand frontal bone, discovered in Germany in 1973. Initial assessments dated it to around 36,000 years ago. Early analyses indicated that its sturdy features pointed to the bone belonging to a person with both Neanderthal and modern human ancestry. However, advanced dating techniques have now shown it to be approximately 7,500 years old, placing it in the Mesolithic era.
