Social media reactions highlighted the exorbitant costs, with users joking about expecting to join the game or play alongside stars for such amounts. One comment questioned who would pay these prices, calling it typical of FIFA.
The cheapest options on the resale site as of Thursday were $10,923.85 for four seats near the top of the upper level behind a goal, in section 323, row 23, seats 13-16.
In a statement, FIFA explained that its ticket sales and resale system follows common practices in major sports and entertainment events in the host nations. The fees match industry norms in North American markets. The organization uses dynamic pricing to adjust rates for better sales, attendance, and fair value.

U.S. team’s opening match against Paraguay on June 12 in Inglewood, California, had tickets at $4,105, $2,735, $2,330, and $1,940. The second game versus Australia on June 19 in Seattle was priced at $2,715. The group stage closer against Turkey on June 25 in Inglewood cost $2,970 and $1,345.
Canada’s first game against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12 in Toronto was available for $3,360, $2,240, $1,645, and $980.
No direct tickets from FIFA were listed for the tournament’s opening match between Mexico and South Africa on June 11 in Mexico City.
Quarterfinal tickets included $4,200 and $1,610 for July 9 in Foxborough, Massachusetts; $5,730 for July 10 in Inglewood; $4,770 and $1,815 for July 11 in Miami Gardens, Florida; and $4,080 for July 11 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Seats for the third-place match on July 18 in Miami Gardens were priced at $1,125.
