Organizers of the Ryder Cup in Europe have increased ticket prices significantly for the 2027 competition, where the United States aims to reclaim the title at Adare Manor in County Limerick. Daily admission will cost €499 (£434) for tickets available to residents of the Republic of Ireland starting Friday, marking the event’s 100th anniversary. This represents nearly twice the €260 charged for entry in Rome four years earlier. Tickets for practice days are more affordable, priced at €89 for adults and €20 for children on Tuesday and Wednesday, increasing to €179 and €30 on Thursday, which features the opening ceremony. Although these rates are the highest ever for a Ryder Cup held in Europe, attendees at last year’s event in Bethpage, New York, paid $750 (£555) to see Europe’s win against the US. Richard Atkinson, the Ryder Cup’s chief officer, explained to BBC Sport: ‘We recognize this is higher than in Rome. That was four years ago, and much has changed globally since then. Our prices are below those at Bethpage. We aimed to ensure broad accessibility. Practice tickets start at €89 for adults and €20 for juniors. These rates align with a major international sports spectacle. The event has gained immense prestige and is among the world’s top sporting occasions. We stand by our pricing while prioritizing inclusivity.’ To offset the higher costs, planners are introducing an official campsite with entertainment for the first time, along with improved amenities for visitors. This marks the Ryder Cup’s return to Ireland since Europe’s 2006 victory in Straffan, County Kildare. Atkinson noted: ‘We have comprehensive measures to improve the onsite experience for the 2027 Ryder Cup, such as a record 20,000 seats in grandstands and more large viewing screens. We sought to include diverse groups in this prominent global event. Beyond varied pricing options, we appreciate Musgrave’s assistance, enabling families throughout Ireland to obtain tickets for the SuperValu Community Day on Tuesday during Ryder Cup week.’
