Indian opener Shafali Verma advanced further in the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings, moving nearer to the top five positions. Team captain Harmanpreet Kaur also progressed toward re-entering the top 10 after the most recent update on Tuesday. These changes occurred during the current five-game T20I series against South Africa, with multiple athletes from both teams recognized for their efforts ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales, set to begin on June 12.

Shafali advanced two spots to sixth place among batters following her quick 57-run innings against South Africa, narrowing the gap to the leading five. Smriti Mandhana holds India’s top batting rank at fourth.

Harmanpreet rose two positions to a shared 11th spot, thanks to her unbeaten 47 in the first match, indicating improved performance at a key time.

For South Africa, leader Laura Wolvaardt stayed at fifth after a steady half-century in the second game. Teammates Annerie Dercksen advanced 18 spots to 33rd, and Sune Luus gained eight places to 35th.

In bowling, Sadia Iqbal remained at the top, but South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba jumped five positions to a tied sixth after strong showings early in the series against India.

Additional advances for South Africa included Ayabonga Khaka (up eight to 25th), Chloe Tryon (up three to 38th), and Tumi Sekhukhune (up 23 to 55th). India’s Shree Charani, a left-arm spinner, moved up four spots to 23rd.

Among all-rounders, Melie Kerr kept the number one ranking, while Tryon (up four to joint 11th) and Dercksen (up 11 to 29th) showed substantial progress.

The ODI rankings also shifted after the first game in the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka series. Sharmin Akhter rose seven places to 22nd following her 86 runs in Rajshahi.

Teammate Sobhana Mostary climbed eight spots to 50th with 41 runs, and bowlers Nahida Akter (13th), Rabeya Khan (20th), and Marufa Akter (up nine to joint 43rd) also improved their standings.
