The series recently grew with the addition of the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G in the Indian market. Speculation about the next generation has started, with new leaks indicating that work on models like the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is in progress.
Details Emerge for Redmi Note 17 Pro Max
References to the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max have appeared in recent updates to HyperOS code. While the standard Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro are anticipated, the leaks mainly highlight the Pro Max model.
According to leaker Kacper Skrzypek, the device might keep a camera system comparable to its predecessor. It is expected to include a 200-megapixel main sensor, possibly the Samsung ISOCELL S5KHP5, paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens using the Omnivision OV08F10 sensor.
For the front camera, the Note 17 Pro Max is projected to have a 32-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KKDS sensor for self-portraits and video chats. This setup mirrors that of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.
In terms of processing power, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is rumored to incorporate a chipset with the model MT6881, thought to be the MediaTek Dimensity 7500. If confirmed, this would mark a modest improvement over the Dimensity 7400 found in the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.
The version for the Chinese market may include a battery exceeding 10,000mAh in capacity.
The Redmi Note 17 series is likely to debut initially in China, potentially during a summer update period. Availability in international areas, such as India, might occur in late 2026 or early 2027. Xiaomi’s subsidiary has not yet verified any information about the upcoming device.
