Growing research indicates that AI may eliminate several entry-level white-collar positions in coming years. Technology leaders differ on the pace of change but largely concur that the technology will reshape employment significantly. This raises questions about which roles will prove most durable and where new graduates can still secure positions.

A recent analysis named air traffic controllers the highest-paying entry-level role in an AI-resistant sector. These positions typically require no bachelor’s degree, offer average annual pay of $144,000, and resist automation because AI manages only about a quarter of the duties while humans handle real-time choices, according to a June 2026 report by GoHumanize.

The study listed the ten most future-proof occupations that are accessible and well compensated. Commercial pilots ranked second in aviation with an AI-resistance score of 66 out of 100. The sector is expected to add thousands of pilot jobs by 2034.

Healthcare positions such as radiation therapists and dental hygienists, along with distribution managers, also appeared on the list. The findings arrive as many young people seek stable, accessible careers that pay well amid advancing AI.

The report’s author noted that AI now affects fields once considered secure, including law and finance. Hands-on work, human judgment, and responsibility for safety remain difficult to automate. Jobs were evaluated on entry requirements limited to a high-school diploma, certificate, or apprenticeship, median wages of at least $50,000, projected growth of 7 percent through 2034, and AI-resistance scores of 70 or higher.

Elevator and escalator installation and repair emerged as another strong option, averaging $106,000 with only 45 percent of tasks likely to be automated. Police and detective supervisors plus transportation and distribution managers were also deemed nearly impossible to replace. The study ranked roles by median salary.
